Meet my sister

Mindy is staying with us for a few days. Mindy looks like a sheep. She doesn't have a haircut very often but, underneath her long hair, she is just like me. She has a very cool trick. She can spin her tail which I can't do. My tail wags from side to side but her tail goes round and round. We are both good tail waggers but in different ways.

She is my sister from the same litter. That means same mum and dad, same brothers and sisters.

For the first 14 weeks of our lives we played together in the middle of nowhere with the lady vet who is our breeder. We woke up when it was still dark and our breeder fed us because she has to feed lots of other animals, other Westies and goats. First of all we suckled on our mum's teats for milk then we had goat milk and raw meat. All organic. Our breeder is very fussy about what she feeds her puppies.

Then one day, a man and lady with two Westies who I had not met before, put us in a car and drove us to Sydney. They took us for a walk and fed us.

The next day they took Mindy and me in a crate together and left us in a very big room. We were moved to smaller, dark room. There were lots of whirring sounds, high-pitched squealing sounds that my ears didn't like and my tummy went funny like it was being lifted off the ground but I was still on the ground.

It was a long time. So long that I couldn't hold on any longer and had to pee in the crate. I was confused but Mindy was next to me so I thought it was all OK.

Then we moved again and it was light.

The door of the crate opened and a lady picked me up and another lady picked up Mindy. We didn't know, but these were our new human mums.

And that's how I came to be here.

Mindy and I go for walks together. We can smell each other when we are close. Even when the door is closed and I can't see her. I know she is closeby.

We like to frolick. That's a good word that means rolling and tumbling and jumping over each other and rubbing each other's neck. We do it all the time until we are pooped and have to stop for a rest. We like being next to each other like we were in the crate. I love Mindy.
