Just part of the furniture

I mean, look at me. A sweet white furry thing with big eyes and a black nose. Curled up in the equally furry white bed. Look how nicely I am art directed as part of the furniture.

Patricia Urquiola's Husk chairs. One of her favourite designers, says human mum. Cost a fortune, but only a 50% sale price fortune. She paid full price for me. No discount. No one discounts a pure breed West Highland White Terrier.

Eileen Gray coffee table. And who is Eileen Gray, you might ask. She was an interior designer, furniture designer and architect who became a pioneer of the Modern Movement in architecture. She was friends with Le Corbusier who painted murals inside her house on the Mediterranean coast in France. She didn't like it. She wanted a clean, industrial, undecorated house. She should have been more famous but, like so many of the women at that time, they were always in the shadow of men. My human mum could tell you more but I won't bore you.

Then there's the Robyn Lees ceramic sculpture. I like it because it is right size for me. And I like the colours. It reminds me of Rapunzel, Rapunzel let your hair down, except the lady is at the bottom and not at the top of the tower.

Painting is by Harvey Wachtel who was a friend of human mum. He travelled through South America and painted lots of SA scenes in bright colours. I think they are happy paintings, even though he was a grumpy man.

And then there is the light, the light. Art work by Mother Nature. It's very clever because it moves and changes shape, and later in the day the light will be on me and my bed. I like that. Note: northern light in Australia especially good in Winter.

And then there’s the Art Deco lamp with a black glass tray thingy which is quite handy for putting little things on.

I don't think a Chihuahua would be a good choice in our house. Or a German Shepherd or a French Bulldog. They don't have the right look.

Unlike moi who fits perfectly with the vibe. All style on four (short) legs.
