I’VE HAD THE BEST TIME

While she toddles off to Sri Lanka - home of many dogs who all look the same and are free to roam the streets - I have been having the best time. Better than when she is here.
Imagine the streets full of Westies all looking the same. The world would be so full of love because everyone would be wanting to stop and cuddle us because we are so gorgeous and adorable.
The Lady in the Van arrives with Sidney, my new BFF, a very stylish black Schnauzer. Lady in the Van and Sidney move into my house and that’s when the best time begins. (Bertie don’t think that you are not my BFF anymore. I now have two BFFs)
We go for two walks every day. We go to coffee shops. We go to Northam which is a long drive and where human mum has never taken me. Northam has a good river to walk along (note to human mum, I would like to go there again).
We go to Guilderton which is also a long drive. I have been there once before when I was a wee pup and got stuck under the house and couldn’t get out. It was a traumatising experience.
We go to the beach. We go for walks in the park.
And we are having the best time even though it is raining lots of the time.
We are so tired at the end of every day, and Sidney and I sleep curled up together on the bed.
Lady in the Van lets us lie on the two chairs where the morning sun comes in and I never had been allowed to lie on those chairs but Lady in the Van put a towel on the chairs which makes it OK (note for human mum).
At Guilderton there are two poodles who don’t look the same. One is black, one is white but there are good for a run along the beach and a romp on the lawn. And there’s a long sofa with rugs for dogs to lie on and watch the humans. I stayed away from the underneath of the house, but thanks to the support of black and white poodles, I confronted my traumatic experience and can now move on.
Now Lady in the Van and Sidney have gone and human mum is back. At first I was aloof and pretended I wasn’t excited to see her. It’s a good tactic because thinks she needs to reconnect with lots of tummy tickles and ear rubs. And it’s good being one dog and the centre of attention.
